Our Honest Thoughts on the Petals of Reincarnation Anime

We checked out the anime adaptation of Petals of Reincarnation and walked away feeling pretty disappointed. While the series tries to pack in a lot of ideas at once, it unfortunately misses the mark when it comes to storytelling. The plot feels messy and the main message is often lost in the shuffle.

Most of the frustration stems from the show being unfocused. It seems to have a lot of built up anger, but there is no real direction for that energy to go. As a viewer, it is difficult to connect with the characters or understand why any of these events actually matter.

If you were hoping for a tight, engaging watch, this one might not be for you. It tries to do too much without mastering the basics of good pacing and character development. It is a shame because the core concept had potential, but the final execution just does not hold together.
