The latest episode of Dexter: Resurrection, titled Fallen, brings a mix of exciting fan service and slow paced setup. Seeing Dexter reunite with Joseph Quinn was a massive highlight. Their shared screen time felt like a true return to the classic dynamic we loved in the original series, complete with Dexter staying one step ahead of the law under the guise of being helpful.

On the other side of things, the Harrison and NYPD storyline feels a bit sluggish. Harrison landing a Homicide position straight out of the academy feels like a forced plot point, especially with the predictable drama involving his training officer. Meanwhile, the investigation into the Five Borough Killer is moving at a very slow pace, making it hard to get invested in the police side of the narrative.

The most gripping part of the episode involves Dexter crossing paths with Don Framt, the suspected New York Ripper. Brian Cox gives an incredibly entertaining performance that keeps us guessing about his character's true nature. While the episode concludes with Dexter forming an unexpected alliance with Charley Brown, it is clear the season is still in its early stages of building toward bigger confrontations.

Fans can look forward to seeing how the partnership with Charley plays out, especially with the introduction of a familiar style kill room and a new boat. It seems like the stage is set for Dexter to return to his roots, even if the surrounding police plots are taking a bit longer to pick up steam.
