Gyro Zeppeli's Past Takes Center Stage in Steel Ball Run Episode 6

Fans of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure are getting a break from the usual Stand battles this week. Episode 6 of Steel Ball Run, titled Gyro Zeppeli’s Destiny, focuses entirely on the history of our favorite Spin master. Through a series of flashbacks, we learn about Gyro’s childhood and the heavy expectations placed on him by his father, Gregorio Zeppeli.

The episode explains the true burden of the Zeppeli family name. For generations, they have served as royal executioners, using the Spin to grant mercy to prisoners. We finally understand why Gyro entered the race, as his motivation is tied to a young boy named Marco. It is a powerful look at how Gyro’s personal morals clash with his duty to his family and the state.

Back in the present, the tension between Johnny and Gyro continues to build. While the duo successfully fends off an encounter with an enemy Stand user, Gyro remains distant with his partner. The emotional stakes are just as high as the physical ones, especially with the mysterious events unfolding around Johnny’s own body.

Despite a slower pace, the episode leaves us on a chilling cliffhanger involving some unsettling body horror. It is a great shift in tone that sets the stage for more intense moments ahead. You can catch the latest episode of Steel Ball Run streaming now on Netflix.
