BlizzCon 2026 kicked off with a bang, marking the start of a busy era for Blizzard fans. The event showcased big updates for the World of Warcraft series, confirming that the Worldsoul Saga will continue through the patches Eclipse and The Last Titan. Players can look forward to a return to Northrend in 2027, featuring iconic locations like Icecrown Citadel and a massive new threat in the form of a Titan construct.

Perhaps the biggest surprise is the reveal of World of Warcraft Forever. This new project acts as an alternate version of Azeroth, offering a modern visual style, a new race called the Skyborne, and fresh talent trees. It launches on November 4th, with a beta period starting this Thursday. Meanwhile, Warcraft 3 Reforged is receiving its first new campaign in 23 years, Forsaken Kingdom, which is available to play right now.

Overwatch is also getting a shake up with the introduction of Doctrine, a support hero with a vampiric style. Coming in Season 5 this October, Doctrine uses an ability called Infuse to balance healing and damage. Hearthstone is also getting plenty of love with the upcoming expansion Reign of the Black Empire and the arrival of the Monk class in Spring 2027.

These announcements signal a clear shift toward expanding the lore and gameplay of Blizzard’s core franchises. Whether you are a long time fan of the MMO or looking for a new reason to jump back into these worlds, the next year looks packed with content.
