Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake Gets a Smaller Download Size

Fans waiting for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake have a small reason to celebrate today. Recent reports show the game's file size on the Nintendo Switch 2 has dropped from 27 GB down to 24.54 GB. This update was spotted in the backend of the Nintendo eShop, suggesting the developers found ways to optimize the data before the official release.

While Nintendo has not made an official announcement about this change yet, the updated figure is expected to show up on the public store page very soon. Saving a few gigabytes is always a win for players who like to keep plenty of games installed at once.

We are keeping a close eye on the store for any more updates. Even though this size reduction is modest, it is a great sign that the team is focusing on efficiency as we get closer to the launch date.
