The new Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Switch 2 hit stores for preorders recently, but the stock vanished in seconds. Fans eager to get their hands on this limited edition console found themselves stuck behind long digital queues as retailers sold out almost immediately.

Since the official units disappeared, scalpers have flooded sites like eBay with resale listings. Some of these sellers are asking for more than 700 pounds, which is a massive markup from the original retail price of 435 pounds. It is a frustrating situation for genuine fans who just want to play the latest games.

This console is arriving alongside the highly anticipated remake of The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. That title is set to launch exclusively on the Switch 2 this November. Nintendo has yet to announce if more units will be available for purchase before the console release date.
