Walmart Offers Gift Cards After Zelda Switch 2 Preorder Mess

Gamers who had their limited edition Zelda Nintendo Switch 2 preorders abruptly canceled by Walmart are finally getting some good news. Reports show that Walmart is handing out $519 gift cards to many of the customers affected by the sudden last minute cancellations. This comes as a huge relief to fans who were frustrated after losing their reservations right before the October 29, 2026 release date.

Alongside the gift cards, some lucky buyers are even getting a second chance to purchase the console through restored reservations. It is still a bit unclear if every single affected customer will receive both the gift card and the chance to buy the console again, or if it depends on individual situations.

This messy situation caused a lot of panic in the gaming community, but this latest step by Walmart helps ease the frustration. Fans are watching closely to see how the retailer handles the remaining canceled orders as the release date approaches.
