The Fixers Is A Fun Ride That Struggles With Too Much Plot

The Fixers follows Felix, an ex gangster who starts working for the Ching He Temple. Along with his partner Louis, he handles problems for powerful people to keep the city in balance. The chemistry between these two leads is a clear highlight, as their clashing personalities create a fun dynamic that grows throughout the ten episodes.

The show also features a strong supporting cast, including the focused boss Thackery Huang and the rogue operator Mina Shen. These characters bring extra personality to the screen, and the action sequences provide a nice boost of energy. While it is not a pure action series, the fight choreography is creative and the final episode features a standout battle that is easily the best moment of the season.

However, the series has trouble with its narrative pacing. It often feels like you are starting in the middle of a second season instead of a fresh story. The show rushes to dump heavy amounts of temple history and past betrayals onto the audience. This makes it hard to keep track of all the different allegiances and secrets, causing some character relationships to feel a bit forced.

Despite these struggles, the finale manages to tie everything together in a satisfying way. It pays off the various plot threads and delivers a few genuine surprises that make the journey worth it. If you enjoy character driven stories, it is definitely worth a watch on Netflix.
