Tank Chair Episode 2 Brings More Chaotic Sniper Action

Episode two keeps the chaotic energy high as we get a better look at life on Guicheng Island. This artificial island is a lawless place filled with criminals and outcasts, which sets a perfect backdrop for the series. While we do learn a bit about why the island is so dangerous for the civilians living there, the story stays pretty surface level for now. Hopefully, we get more details on the history of this strange city as the plot moves forward.

The episode introduces a new threat in Ryo Takanashi, a professional sniper hired by Shizuka. Her motivation is to test her brother Nagi, and her fearless attitude while scouting a dangerous hitman is genuinely impressive. Watching a young girl walk into a criminal hideout without a hint of fear really highlights her intense devotion to her brother.

Things get ridiculous when the sniper fight begins. The anime throws out some wild physics calculations about bullet speeds and reaction times. While the math is impossible and hilarious, it adds to the unique charm of this action comedy. Nagi responds by using his Tank Chair to pull off an incredible shot, crushing the incoming threat in a blink.

The episode finishes on a softer, more emotional note. We see just how much Shizuka wants to help Nagi recover from his catatonic state, which adds some real heart to the insanity. With the tease of a new character named Touko, it is clear that Nagi and Shizuka will have their hands full in the coming episodes.
