Riftbound 2027 Lineup Brings Massive Changes to the TCG
Riot Games is shaking up the Riftbound trading card game with new sets, improved pack formats, and clearer card rules.
manhwa.newsRiot Games just shared a massive update for the future of Riftbound. Before the 2027 calendar begins, fans can look forward to the T1 2025 Worlds Champion Collection this October, followed by the fifth set, Radiance, on October 23, 2026. Radiance features the debut of Seraphine along with new Legends like Evelynn, Ziggs, and Ekko. To round out the year, a special holiday box called Gift of the Rift arrives on December 4, packed with enough cards to help introduce new players to the game.
The real buzz surrounds the 2027 kickoff set, Legacy, which launches on January 29. This set introduces a dedicated slot in booster packs for Legends and Battlefields. This change ensures players receive these essential cards more reliably and makes the game much better for draft and sealed play styles. It is a major adjustment that shows Riot is listening to fan feedback about pack openings.
Riot is also making long requested improvements to card readability. Starting with Legacy, new card templates will include visual arrows and grey boxes to help players track card effects and targets. They are also cleaning up keyword terminology to make game mechanics easier to understand, such as changing play a token to create a token.
Looking further ahead, the team teased that the seventh set, The Reckoning, will feature some of the biggest champions from the series. With these structural improvements and a consistent release schedule, the future of the game looks very bright for both new and veteran players.
