Pocketpair Explains Why Palworld Won't Get Terrain Digging

Many fans have been asking the team at Pocketpair to add terrain digging to Palworld. It sounds like a fun idea, but the studio recently shared why this specific feature is not on the horizon for current updates.

John Buckley, who leads publishing and communications at the studio, explained that adding digging mechanics would require a total rebuild of the game systems. Because the current world was not built with destructible terrain in mind, the developers would essentially have to start from scratch.

Buckley joked that adding something as complex as terrain digging would basically mean they are making Palworld 2. For now, the team is focused on other improvements rather than altering the fundamental way the map functions.
