Mackenyu Joins Mashle: Magic and Muscles Live Action Movie

Fans of anime adaptations have a new reason to get excited. Mackenyu is stepping into the role of Mash Burnedead for the upcoming live action movie based on Mashle: Magic and Muscles. The news was officially confirmed on November 5, 2026, alongside a first look at the production through a new teaser.

It turns out the casting process was incredibly fast. Director Yuichi Fukuda chose Mackenyu for the part after only five seconds of consideration. Despite how quickly the decision was made, the actor took his preparation very seriously. He spent about three years focusing on his physical training to make sure he captured the essence of the muscle bound protagonist.

Mackenyu continues to cement his place as a go to actor for big anime projects. After his performance as Zoro in the Netflix One Piece series, this new role shows his dedication to staying in shape for action heavy characters. We cannot wait to see how he brings Mash and his love for cream puffs to the big screen.
