Could Final Fantasy Get Its Own TV Series?

Exciting news for fans of Square Enix, as producer Yoshinori Kitase recently hinted at the potential for a Final Fantasy television series. During a discussion at Lucca Comics and Games, Kitase shared his thoughts on how the series could grow beyond the gaming space. He noted that the team is interested in exploring other forms of entertainment for their properties.

This interest comes after the success of the expanded storytelling seen in the Final Fantasy VII Remake project. Kitase mentioned that the extra depth added to that world serves as a great blueprint for how these complex stories could function in different formats. While nothing is set in stone, the idea of seeing these characters on screen in a live action or animated series is a fun prospect.

For now, the focus remains on the games, but this openness shows that the studio is thinking about the future of the brand. We will be keeping a close watch for any updates on potential film or television projects from Square Enix.
