Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 Premiere Recap: Risky Business
Dexter returns to hunt serial killers in a mixed season premiere that hits some high notes but stumbles early on.
manhwa.newsThe sophomore season of Dexter: Resurrection is officially here. Directed by Marcos Siega and written by Clyde Phillips, the premiere episode titled Risky Business brings a mix of highs and lows. While the episode features some creative kills and a nostalgic callback to the classic intro, it begins with a few strange, corny dream sequences that feel out of character for the series.
Once the episode settles in, things improve significantly. Dexter is back to his old ways, targeting the remaining serial killers from the society curated by Leon Prater. A highlight for fans is the return of the iconic original series intro, which feels like a perfect way to signal the show is here to stay. Michael C. Hall and James Remar also feel right at home slipping back into their familiar roles.
The main plot centers on Dexter tracking down Al Walker, a serial killer known as Rapunzel. The confrontation in Pennsylvania provides the tension fans love, especially when Dexter's carefully planned kill goes wrong, forcing him to adapt on the fly. After managing to kill Walker, Dexter is left scrambling to frame the death as a suicide, which promises to stir up trouble in future episodes.
Meanwhile, Harrison is preparing for his graduation from the police academy. While this father son dynamic adds a layer of emotional stakes, it currently feels like the weakest part of the story. With Dexter now dealing with the fallout of his messy kill and his bloodlust rising, the stage is set for a chaotic season.
