Clevatess Season 2 Struggles to Keep Its Magic Alive

The second season of Clevatess, produced by Lay duce, follows our protagonist and the hero Alicia as they head to a prestigious academy to learn magic and uncover secrets about their former enemy, Drel. On paper, this sounds like an exciting change of pace for the series, but the execution leaves much to be desired. The school setting often feels like a box to check rather than a meaningful location for the story, and the academy atmosphere disappears almost as quickly as it arrives.

The biggest hurdle this season is the treatment of Clevatess himself. In the first season, he was a fascinating character who offered a unique view on humanity through his bond with Alicia. Here, he feels largely separated from his core dynamic and regresses into a condescending know it all, lacking the emotional depth that made him stand out initially. New characters are introduced, but none of them leave a lasting impression or offer a compelling reason to stick around.

It is not all bad news, however. Alicia receives some great development as she is forced to handle threats without relying solely on her sword. The world building also remains a highlight, with the show providing a fresh and believable perspective on hero myths and the nature of magic. The action scenes, while occasionally wrapping up too quickly, are visually impressive and keep the tension high when it matters most.

Ultimately, Clevatess Season 2 feels like a missed opportunity that fails to capture the magic of the first installment. There are enough glimpses of quality to keep fans interested in a potential third season, but this chapter remains a rocky experience.
