Clevatess Manga Delivers a Darker Experience Than the Anime

Fans of dark fantasy can now pick up the English version of Clevatess, The King of Dark Beasts, the Baby, and the Undead Hero. Yen Press released the first volume on August 25, 2026. This release gives international readers the chance to experience Yuji Iwahara’s original vision in its intended format.

While the recent anime adaptation introduced the premise to many new viewers, the manga offers a different feel. Iwahara shows impressive control over the tone of the story, making it stand out from the animated version. The manga presents a sharper and darker perspective on the unusual bond between the characters.

Those who enjoyed the anime but wanted a more intense narrative should check out the original print version. It expands on the character dynamics and provides a deeper look at the world building. You can find the first volume at major retailers starting now.
