Will GTA 6 Come to Switch 2? A Former Rockstar Dev Weighs In

Excitement for Grand Theft Auto 6 is at an all time high. Rockstar Games has confirmed the title is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S, but fans are still wondering if a Nintendo Switch 2 version could happen later on.

Jérémy Hartvick, who worked as a designer on the project until 2020, recently shared his thoughts on the matter. He believes that porting such an ambitious game to the upcoming Nintendo console would likely result in a subpar experience. Because of the technical gap, he thinks the effort might not be worth it for the studio.

He also pointed out that players interested in a high end experience like GTA 6 are likely to own a PlayStation 5 or an Xbox instead. Since the game is built for powerful hardware, Rockstar would rather focus on the consoles that can handle the full scope of their vision.

For now, it seems best to keep expectations low regarding a portable version. Rockstar has not made any official announcements about other platforms, so players should focus on the confirmed console releases for the big launch.
