The Remarried Empress KDrama Review: Does It Live Up to the Webtoon?
The first four episodes of the live action adaptation bring Navier and Sovieshu to life with intense royal drama.
★ 7.7manhwa.newsThe first four episodes of The Remarried Empress are finally here, and they bring the hit webtoon to life in a big way. The story follows Empress Navier and Emperor Sovieshu as their marriage starts to fall apart. Everything changes when Sovieshu rescues a woman named Rashta and decides to make her his mistress. Fans of the original story will recognize the tension immediately as the palace fills with gossip.
Shin Min a is absolutely perfect as Navier. She portrays the empress with so much grace and strength. Even as her husband becomes cruel and focuses only on Rashta, Navier keeps her head held high. She is smart and knows how to handle the political fallout of the scandal without losing her dignity. It is really satisfying to see her stand her ground against Sovieshu during their most heated moments.
The show also introduces the magical side of the story. Prince Heinrey can turn into a bird, and he uses this secret to send letters to Navier. This adds a nice bit of fantasy to the royal drama. While the show is only ten episodes long, these first four move a bit slowly. We are still waiting for the actual divorce to happen. However, the acting is so good that it is easy to stay hooked on every episode.
