The Creep Tapes Season 3 Review: Familiar Terror
Mark Duplass returns with more creepy charm and dark humor in the latest season of the horror anthology.
manhwa.newsThe Creep Tapes Season 3 keeps the spooky fun going with its familiar anthology format, directed by Patrick Brice. Mark Duplass steps back into the role of the infamous killer, going by the name Josef this time, and pretending to be different people to trick new victims. The first episode kicks things off on a boat where Josef poses as an aging rockstar, mixing believable moments with scenes that ask a lot from viewer suspension of disbelief.
While some episodes hit certain predictable notes, the guest stars really make things shine. Horror favourite Kate Siegel delivers a standout performance with fantastic chemistry alongside Duplass, making her episode one of the absolute best parts of the run. Other guest stars like Nicholas Hamilton, Elliott Fullam, Ora Duplass, and James Earl also add fresh energy to the mix.
Down the line, the season finale misses some of the bizarre energy found in past endings, leaving fans wanting a bit more punch. Even so, the dark humor and total commitment from Duplass carry the show through any weaker plot points. Horror fans looking for a quick and satisfying scare will find plenty to enjoy here.
