The 5 Best Anime Premieres of Fall 2026

The leaves are changing and the summer anime season is behind us. If you have been looking for something new to watch, the fall 2026 lineup is a bit unique. We are seeing fewer original shows this year, but the returning sequels are stronger than they have ever been. Whether you want to catch up on old favorites or find something fresh, this season has plenty of charm.

Magic Knight Rayearth is making a big comeback with a gorgeous new adaptation by E&H Production. It is a fantastic reminder that the isekai genre can be about more than just tropes. We also have the long awaited return of Blue Box for its second season on Netflix. Even with a change in animation studios, the show keeps its emotional punch and beautiful visual style as Taiki and Chinatsu navigate their high school romance.

For those who love classic comedy, the third season of Ranma 1/2 is looking sharp thanks to the team at MAPPA. It manages to keep that original spirit while feeling right at home in 2026. These series are perfect for fans who want to revisit iconic stories that still feel exciting today.

If you are feeling like your watchlist is empty, now is the perfect time to get caught up. With heavy hitters returning and high production values across the board, these premieres prove that sometimes the best way forward is to look back at the shows we already love.
