Resident Evil Dominates Steam Horror Sales in 2026

It turns out horror fans are still obsessed with Resident Evil. Recent market data shows that the franchise brought in an estimated 410 million dollars on Steam throughout 2026. This huge figure accounts for nearly one third of all horror game revenue on the platform this year.

The success is fueled by a mix of recent hits and beloved classics. Players are still picking up copies of Resident Evil Village and the modern remakes of the second, third, and fourth games in the series. The release of Resident Evil Requiem also helped keep the franchise at the top of the charts.

For fans, these numbers show that the demand for high quality survival horror is stronger than ever. With such a massive player base supporting these titles, we can likely expect Capcom to keep the momentum going with future projects and continued support for their existing lineup.
