Oblivion Remastered Hits Switch 2 With Unreal Engine 5
Bethesda is bringing the classic RPG to Nintendo Switch 2 using modern engine technology.
manhwa.newsBig news for fans of classic RPGs. Bethesda and developer Virtuos are working on a remaster of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. This project is turning heads because it marks the first time an open world game built in Unreal Engine 5 has been brought to the console.
Dan Lee, the Associate Art Director at Bethesda, shared that this release was a huge technical challenge. Because the team did not have any other projects to look at as a guide, they had to figure out how to make the demanding engine run well on the new hardware all on their own.
This is a major step for the system. Using such modern technology shows that the Switch 2 could handle much more complex games than its predecessor. We are excited to see how this beloved classic looks once it gets a fresh coat of paint.
