New Pokémon Wild Card Movie Announced for 2027

Fans of the pocket monsters have a major reason to celebrate. The franchise is officially returning to the big screen with an upcoming animated movie titled Pokémon Wild Card. The big reveal happened during the closing ceremony of the 2026 Pokémon World Championships held in San Francisco.

Unlike traditional adventures following Ash Ketchum or other trainers in the wild, this new feature shifts its focus to the popular Pokémon Trading Card Game. This creative direction offers a fresh angle for the beloved franchise and brings the strategy of card battles into a theatrical format.

This project marks the very first new animated feature for the franchise since Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle released back in 2020. Moviegoers around the world can look forward to catching the film when it arrives in theaters globally in 2027.
