Netflix Anime Viewership Hits Massive New Record
Fans are watching more anime on Netflix than ever before as the platform sees a huge spike in popularity.
manhwa.newsAnime is officially one of the biggest forces on Netflix right now. According to recent industry reports, viewers spent 4.64 billion hours watching Japanese animation during the first half of 2026. This is a massive jump from the 3.33 billion hours recorded during the same period in 2023.
This 39 percent increase proves that the audience for anime is growing much faster than the rest of the content on the site. While Netflix total viewership grew by 4.5 percent overall, anime is clearly outpacing everything else on the platform.
This shift shows that anime fans are becoming a central part of the streaming landscape. As these numbers continue to rise, we can likely expect even more support and investment for new anime titles on the platform in the near future.
