Monster Hunter Wilds Rejected Scary Multi Headed Monster Designs
Capcom decided to scale back some creature designs for Monster Hunter Wilds to keep the game from feeling like pure horror.
manhwa.newsFans looking forward to Monster Hunter Wilds almost got a much creepier experience. Executive Director Kaname Fujioka recently shared that the development team experimented with some intense monster concepts during the early stages of production. Some of these designs included creatures with multiple heads and other body types that felt out of place.
Fujioka explained that while the team wants to innovate, they also need to make sure the monsters feel like they actually belong in the natural ecosystems of the game. These more extreme designs were ultimately scrapped because they leaned too far into horror and lacked a logical place within the world.
It is interesting to hear how the team balances creature design with the established tone of the series. We can look forward to seeing what final designs made the cut when the game officially launches.
