Haunted Hotel is finally back for a second season, bringing the Undervale staff and their supernatural baggage along for the ride. Katherine, the hardworking single mom trying to manage the hotel, is still struggling to raise her two kids while dealing with a ghost brother and a demon trapped in a boy's body. It is just as chaotic and hilarious as fans remember, with the show successfully balancing its dark premise with genuine comedy.

The new season excels by leaning into classic horror tropes and turning them into complete disasters. A standout moment happens in episode three when the family encounters a witch, only for a simple allergic reaction to turn the entire situation into an absurd trip to the emergency room. The show also takes a fun swipe at other supernatural series, like when a character named Dante Crowe arrives to parody serious ghost hunting shows. The main cast reacting to this over the top hero is a highlight of the season.

Returning cast members like Will Forte, Eliza Coupe, and Skyler Gisondo continue to be perfect in their roles. Forte in particular brings surprising emotional weight to Nathan, moving between comedic energy and honest, somber moments as his character processes his own past. While the new character Shayna is a great addition, she unfortunately disappears for much of the later episodes, which is a bit of a shame given how well she fit in with the rest of the group.

Overall, the second season hits a solid stride by focusing on character growth while keeping the supernatural hijinks high. Nathan’s personal journey is especially compelling, as the show explores how knowing the truth about his death does not solve his internal struggles. It is a smart move that gives the series more heart, and fans will definitely want to see how these characters continue to handle life at the hotel in potential future episodes.
