Game Freak Reveals Early Pokémon Pokopia Prototype Footage

Game Freak just gave us an exciting look at the early development of Pokémon Pokopia. They released new prototype footage that shows how the game started on the Nintendo Switch 2, giving us a peek at its core design and early gameplay mechanics.

Along with the video, the studio shared original sketches and pages from their design documents. It is a rare chance to see how the team brainstormed their ideas. Director Shigeru Ohmori noted that this work started right after the team finished up with Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet.

Seeing these early concepts helps us understand how the project has grown since its start. Fans are already looking forward to seeing how these initial ideas eventually take shape in the final version of the game.
