Hey everyone, let us talk about the premiere of Even The Student Council Has Its Holes! from Studio Passione. Directed by Naoyuki Tatsuwa, the new anime adapts Muchimaro's manga series. The story follows Ume Mizunoe, a gifted literature student who gets sent to the Student Council to earn extra credit because his science grades are terrible.

Unfortunately, the first episode turns out to be a messy gag reel. Mizunoe comes across as arrogant, and the rest of the student council members spend their time making constant perverted jokes. Because the original manga uses a short four panel comic format, the anime struggles to create a real story. Instead, it rushes through multiple chapters to fill the runtime with awkward innuendo.

To make matters worse, some of the humor relies on flat jokes and poor treatment of character identities. With eleven more episodes on the way, the series will need to step up its game. You can catch new episodes streaming on Saturdays if you want to check it out for yourself.
