Diablo IV Season of Hell's Legacy Brings Classic Bosses Back

The Diablo series is officially turning 30 years old. To celebrate three decades of battling the lords of terror, the Diablo IV team is launching the Season of Hell's Legacy. This update brings back classic enemies and dungeons from the history of the series, along with new powers linked to the Prime Evils.

Game Director Brent Gibson explained that the team focused on capturing the spirit and nostalgia of older games while ensuring these fights feel challenging for modern characters. Bringing back a boss like the original Diablo required a delicate balance, as the developers wanted to keep the classic feeling while modernizing the mechanics to match current gameplay standards. These encounters scale all the way up to Torment 13, offering a significant challenge for veteran players.

While the story of this season builds on previous events, there are currently no plans to make this specific seasonal content playable again once it concludes. The team is focusing their energy on moving forward with new content rather than revisiting past seasons. For players who might feel lost, the developers suggest relying on the community to catch up on the lore.

Season of Hell's Legacy arrives in Sanctuary on September 15th. Fans can look forward to these updated encounters across all platforms, including PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch 2.
