Dexter: Resurrection Season 1 Is A Fun Serial Killer Blockbuster

The Dexter franchise is officially back with Dexter: Resurrection, and it brings a surprisingly fresh energy to the screen. After the events of New Blood, our favorite forensic analyst finds himself in New York City working as a rideshare driver. He soon discovers a secret society of serial killers managed by a venture capitalist named Leon Prater. Dexter chooses to go undercover to take these targets down one by one, all while trying to navigate a strained relationship with his son, Harrison.

Michael C. Hall returns to the role with a new sense of confidence. This version of Dexter feels more at peace with his dark passenger, and he is joined by an impressive cast including Peter Dinklage, Krysten Ritter, and Neil Patrick Harris. The show leans into a campy, high energy tone that feels more like a superhero story than the heavy psychological drama of the original run.

While fans who prefer the slower pace of the early seasons might miss the original pathos, the show rewards longtime viewers with plenty of nods to the history of the series. With standout performances and a brisk pace, it successfully breathes new life into the franchise. Dexter: Resurrection is currently streaming, and fans can look forward to the second season arriving on October 30, 2026.
