Crimson Desert Tech Keeps Multiplayer Potential Alive

Crimson Desert is officially a single player experience, but its roots in the MMO genre are not gone yet. Lead Engineer Jin hwan Kim recently confirmed that the BlackSpace Engine was built with multiplayer support from the very beginning. Because this technology is baked into the foundation, the game keeps the technical capacity for online features.

This news comes from a recent interview with the team at Gamescom. While Pearl Abyss is focusing entirely on the single player open world adventure right now, the engine design means that online functionality is technically possible in the future if the developers choose to go that way.

It is exciting for fans to know the engine is this flexible. Even if the current vision for Crimson Desert stays solo, the power behind the graphics and movement is ready for more if the team decides to expand later on.
