Could a Starfield Sequel Fix Bethesda's Space RPG?
A former Bethesda designer shares doubts about a Starfield sequel while noting a second game could have solved the original's biggest issues.
manhwa.newsFans of space role playing games have plenty to talk about after some candid comments from former Bethesda lead systems designer Kurt Kuhlmann. In a recent interview, Kuhlmann discussed the future of the franchise and suggested that a follow up might not happen. He pointed out that the first game may not have performed well enough commercially to guarantee a green light for another installment.
Even though the original title brought a massive galaxy to life, players often discussed its missed potential and areas that needed improvement. Kuhlmann believes that a second game could have smoothed out those rough edges. By learning from the initial launch, a new project might have finally matched the grand ambition originally planned by director Todd Howard.
For now, the future of the franchise remains uncertain as Bethesda focuses on other major projects like The Elder Scrolls. Gamers who love deep space adventures will just have to wait and see if the studio ever decides to return to the stars for another try.
