CJ Voice Actor Young Maylay Sets Record Straight on Rockstar Pay

For years, fans have wondered about the relationship between Rockstar Games and Young Maylay, the voice actor behind the iconic CJ in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Rumors often claimed he felt underpaid for his legendary role. However, the actor recently went on The Final Mission, a show hosted by Grand Theft Auto V star Ned Luke, to speak the truth.

Young Maylay stated clearly that the stories about his unhappiness with his paycheck are false. He confirmed that he was actually satisfied with his compensation. He even shared that Rockstar Games provided him with extra bonuses after the game launched, which helped smooth over any potential issues.

It is great to hear him clear the air after so much time has passed. This puts an end to a popular gaming rumor that has circulated for nearly two decades. Fans can now rest easy knowing that the voice behind one of gaming's most memorable characters feels fairly treated for his work.
