Zx-Tole was the leader of the Hyperzoanoid Team 5 who had been Optimized by Doctor Hamilcar Balcus himself, the leading scientist of the Chronos Corporation. The creation of his team of Hyperzoanoids led to their immediate deployment by their creator into Japan in order to deal with the threat the Guyver's had posed after the recent destruction of the Japanese Branch's headquarters.
