Jack Krauser was an ex-US Army veteran and he often participated in mercenary work on the side. His military career was cut short when he participated in an infiltration mission named Operation Javier for US-SOCOM with [Leon S. Kennedy](https://anilist.co/character/15801/Kennedy-Scott-Leon) where they encountered t-Virus Bio-Organic Weapons (B.O.W.s) and was critically injured when one of them impaled him through the arm.
