Arc Raiders May Scrap Expeditions Entirely in 2027

Big changes are coming to Arc Raiders, and your favorite gameplay features might look totally different soon. Embark Studios recently confirmed that the Expedition system is taking a long break until early 2027. Fans have shared plenty of complaints about progression resets, rewards, and accessibility, which is why the team decided to hit the pause button in the first place.

During a recent interview at Gamescom, executive producer Aleksander Grøndal spoke openly about the situation. He admitted that the current system simply has not reached the high standards the studio aims for. Because of these ongoing issues, the team is not ruling out scrapping the entire feature if they cannot fix it properly.

For dedicated players, this means a lot of uncertainty over the next couple of years while the developers rethink their plans. We will have to wait and see what the studio decides to build next as they work toward their big 2027 update window.
