Animator Kenichirō Katsura Passes Away at 59

We have some sad news to share with the community today. Kenichirō Katsura, the talented animator and character designer who left his mark on iconic shows like Macross 7 and Synduality: Noir, has passed away at the age of 59.

His wife, fellow animator Satoko Miyachi, shared the news on October 5. She noted that Katsura passed away on September 30 while he was receiving medical treatment for an illness. Following his passing, the family held a private funeral service for him.

Miyachi expressed her sincere gratitude to the fans who cheered on Katsura throughout his long career. She also thanked all the studios and colleagues who worked closely with him over the years. We are sending our deepest condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time.
