Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 had a lot to live up to, but it unfortunately falls flat. Developed by Cold Iron Studios and published by Daybreak Game Company, the game throws players into a new campaign to fight off swarms of Xenomorphs. While the premise fits right in with the franchise, the actual experience is bogged down by repetitive missions and a tone that feels disconnected from the high stakes of fighting for survival.

The gameplay relies on picking a class and leveling it up alongside specific weapons. While this system offers some depth, it becomes a burden if you want to try something new. You are essentially forced to start from scratch whenever you switch roles, which makes the game feel like a chore rather than an exciting adventure. Even the customization options for your marine and weapons fail to make up for the lack of variety in the environments and mission objectives.

Technical issues are the final nail in the coffin. From ammo that cannot be picked up to enemies getting stuck in walls and players getting trapped inside game objects, bugs are everywhere. These problems often force groups to restart missions entirely, which is incredibly frustrating. Unless the developers address these performance issues and freshen up the core gameplay loop, it is hard to recommend this one to even the most dedicated Alien fans.
