The latest issue of Absolute Superman brings a fresh sense of hope to the often grim Absolute Universe. Jason Aaron continues the search for Brainiac, but the real highlight here is the growing bond between Superman and John Henry Irons, also known as Steel. As they work together, the story does a great job of showing how two lonely and traumatized men find common ground and eventually learn to trust one another.

The storytelling keeps things interesting by jumping through time and space. While the structure is non linear, the fast pace makes it easy to follow the character growth. It is refreshing to see Superman open up to someone else, and the narration from the perspective of Steel provides a heartfelt look at the man behind the godlike powers. Watching them transform from solitary figures into a true team is a highlight of the current run.

Juan E. Ferreyra delivers incredible art that captures both the intensity of battle and quiet moments of peace. The colors shift beautifully, using bright, radioactive shades for the villains and softer, more natural tones for the Kansas fields. By the end of the issue, both the heroes and the villains have changed significantly, leaving readers eager to see what this new partnership means for the future of the Absolute Universe.
