Why Nintendo Scrapped the Original Splatoon Raiders Concept
Nintendo developers explain why they completely changed the core gameplay of their experimental Splatoon project.

6.5manhwa.newsFans have finally learned why the prototype known as Splatoon Raiders shifted away from its initial design. The development team originally experimented with a trap based combat system, but they quickly realized the experience did not capture the spirit of the series.
During internal testing, the team felt that setting traps did not align with the fast movement and ink based action that defines the franchise. Since the goal was to keep the signature feel of the series, they decided to scrap the trap mechanics entirely to focus on a more active playstyle.
This decision shows how much care goes into keeping the series identity consistent. Even when testing new ideas, the developers prioritize the core feeling of the game above all else. We are curious to see if any of these early concepts ever surface in future entries.
