The Hood Joins Marvel Rivals as a Hybrid Tank and DPS Threat

Season 9 of Marvel Rivals is officially underway, and it introduces The Hood as the newest Off Tank character. Voiced by Damian Priest, this character changes how players approach the tank role by blending survivability with heavy damage output. He relies on a Demonic Energy system, where landing hits with pistols or abilities charges his meter. Once fully charged, he enters a transformation that grants him a gatling gun with life steal and infinite ammo.

The Hood offers unique tools for both offense and defense. His Void Walk ability allows for quick movement and escape, while the Mantle of Oblivion creates a protective field for himself and his teammates. He can also use Abyssal Veil to weaken incoming enemy fire and blind opponents. Managing these cooldowns is essential, as using them at the right time is the difference between a successful push and a wasted window of opportunity.

His ultimate ability, Demon of the End, transforms him into a stationary turret that can be placed anywhere, even in mid air. This opens up some creative tactical plays. Additionally, his team ups with Scarlet Witch and Moon Knight provide extra utility, adding more layers to his kit. While he might not function as a traditional anchor tank, his ability to output significant damage makes him a fun and effective pick for players who enjoy an aggressive style.
