The Classic Shojo Manga Georgie Returns in 2027

Great news for fans of classic shojo manga. The beloved series Georgie is officially returning to North America. Publishers Manga Mavericks Books and Omoi have teamed up to bring this vintage title to a new generation of readers in 2027.

Originally serialized back in 1982, Georgie comes from the minds of writer Mann Izawa and illustrator Yumiko Igarashi. If those names sound familiar, it is because they are also the creative force behind the legendary Candy Candy. Their signature style helped define the shojo genre for many readers.

Fans can look forward to a digital release arriving first through Omoi in the spring of 2027. If you prefer holding a physical book, Manga Mavericks Books will follow up with a special hardcover edition that August. It is a perfect chance to experience this historical piece of manga history for the first time or revisit an old favorite.
