Sword Art Online: Echoes of Aincrad Gets First DLC in 2026

Bandai Namco is giving fans more reasons to jump back into the virtual world of Sword Art Online. They just announced the first major DLC for Sword Art Online: Echoes of Aincrad, titled Genesis Maidens. It is scheduled to arrive in Winter 2026, and it looks like it will add plenty of content to keep the adventure going.\n\nThis expansion picks up right where the main story left off. You can expect fresh quests to complete, entirely new areas to explore, and even some new gameplay systems to master. The biggest highlight for many fans is a familiar character from the Sword Art Online Progressive films who will finally join your party as a playable companion.\n\nThe DLC will be available for players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. While we have to wait a little while for the release, this announcement shows that there is a lot more to come for the Aincrad journey.
