Star Wars Announces Major New Comics and Books at SDCC 2026

Lucasfilm Publishing brought a massive collection of upcoming stories to the San Diego Comic Con stage this year. With the 50th anniversary of A New Hope on the horizon, the team announced a wide variety of new projects including horror tales, character focused biographies, and fresh comic book adaptations. These releases span multiple eras of the galaxy, covering the High Republic, the Galactic Civil War, and the rise of the First Order.

Fans of the Sith have plenty to look forward to with the upcoming Star Wars Icons: Darth Vader book. Featuring Hayden Christensen, this deluxe volume explores the entire history of the iconic villain through concept art and new interviews. Meanwhile, comic readers can grab the new Rogue One adaptation by Jody Houser or follow the internal struggles of the First Order in The Fall of Kylo Ren by Charles Soule.

For those who love smaller stories, the Galactic Tales of Terror collection promises spooky thrills, while the Star Pilots book offers a look at the life of Wedge Antilles and his squad. The Bad Batch also makes a comeback in a new Rogue Agents graphic novel, and Luke and Leia fans will get to follow the siblings in the upcoming Twin Crossroads novel. These titles start rolling out in late 2026 and continue into early 2027.
