Review: To You in the Beyond Anime Movie Falls Short

We checked out the new To You in the Beyond movie, and it is a bit of a mixed bag. While the animation has its moments, the story feels strangely distant. It often seems like the most interesting things are happening just out of view rather than on the screen where they belong.

Fans expecting a deep connection to the characters might walk away feeling a bit disappointed. The plot keeps the audience at arm's length, making it hard to care about the stakes. Instead of getting swept up in the emotion, you end up watching from the sidelines.

It is a shame because there are flashes of potential buried under the pacing issues. If you are a diehard fan, you might still want to see it for yourself, but do not expect a masterpiece. Hopefully, future projects from this team can capture the magic that this one missed.
