Nintendo Targets Switch Emulators in Massive GitHub Takedown

Nintendo has launched a massive new crackdown on Nintendo Switch emulators. Over 400 related repositories were recently removed from GitHub in one coordinated takedown campaign. Some of these projects had already been discontinued by their creators, but they still faced removal.

Reports show that Nintendo submitted seven separate DMCA anti circumvention notices to GitHub on the exact same day. This aggressive move follows Nintendo's previous high profile legal actions against popular emulator developers, showing they remain very active in protecting their console software from unauthorized replication online.
