Nintendo Schedules Network Maintenance for Switch and 3DS

Nintendo just shared plans for a series of maintenance windows affecting the Switch, the upcoming Switch 2, and the 3DS. If you are planning to jump into some online sessions or visit the eShop between October 19 and October 22, 2026, you might run into a few hiccups while the company performs these updates.

The maintenance will impact a variety of services across these consoles. Players should be prepared for temporary interruptions to online multiplayer games, eShop transactions involving credit cards or prepaid funds, and the ability to redeem download codes. Some network services for specific 3DS titles are also on the list.

It is always a good idea to check your local time zones against the official schedule if you have a gaming session planned for those dates. While these breaks are a bit of an inconvenience, they are necessary to keep the network running smoothly for everyone.
