Mushoku Tensei Season 3 Episode 8 Review: The Flying Fortress

Mushoku Tensei Season 3 Episode 8, titled The Flying Fortress, brings the main party to the airborne home of the Armored Dragon King, Perugius. Nanahoshi returns to share her summoning magic progress, but a heavy, unsettling mood immediately fills the air. Servants hide behind masquerade masks, and Perugius himself radiates a cold self interest that leaves fans questioning his heroic reputation.

Tensions rise quickly when Roxy is forced to stay behind because of her demonkin heritage. Rudeus also faces hostility because his mana carries a similar energy, proving that Perugius holds deep prejudices. Making matters worse, Perugius completely ignores Nanahoshi as her health continues to fail, leaving her condition to worsen dangerously by the end of the episode.

Despite the dark atmosphere, the episode offers a few touching moments. Rudeus asks Perugius about curing Zenith, and while the legendary hero cannot help directly, he points Rudeus toward Elinalise for answers.
