Insomniac Games is back with Marvel's Wolverine, a straightforward and bloody action game starring everyone's favorite clawed mutant. Liam McIntyre voices Logan, who rejoins Team X alongside characters like Sabretooth and Mystique to rescue mutants from Bolivar Trask. While the game has plenty of action, the combat feels a bit simple with a limited set of moves and enemies, making it a fun ride that does not demand too much from players.

The story has some great moments, especially when it focuses on Logan trying to uncover his lost past. Jean Grey plays a massive role in the adventure, and their dynamic brings real heart to the experience. However, the heavy focus on their romance pushes other characters and backstories into the background. Team X fades away quickly once Jean enters the picture, leaving some emotional beats feeling a bit unearned.

Midway through the game, Logan and Jean head to Tokyo to chase the Hand and rescue a friend, but the urgency does not always land because the connection to that friend is barely explored. The final act sets up some exciting possibilities for a sequel, though it leaves too many central questions unanswered in favor of teasing the future. Even with these narrative stumbles, fans looking for a dark, bloody superhero ride will still find plenty to enjoy.
