MagicCon Reveals Big Changes for 2027 Events

Wizards of the Coast just dropped a massive update regarding the future of MagicCon. While MagicCon Atlanta will wrap up its run in 2026, the community is looking toward two exciting new cities for 2027. Detroit is stepping up to host a major US event, while Tokyo has been officially added to the lineup for the first time.

This shift is especially exciting because of the upcoming card sets announced at the same panel. Players can look forward to releases like Nauctis: The Sunken Realm, Zhalfir, and the highly anticipated Kamigawa: Titanbreach. The addition of a Tokyo event aligns perfectly with the return to the Kamigawa setting, promising a fun experience for fans in Asia.

The full 2027 schedule is now set, featuring MagicCon: Detroit from February 26 to 28, MagicCon: Tokyo from May 14 to 16, MagicCon: Las Vegas from August 27 to 29, and MagicCon: Amsterdam from December 3 to 5.
